Southwest Bank's Tom Cravens Named "Banker Of The Year" By Tarrant County Bankers Association

FORT WORTH, Texas – Dec. 11, 2012 – Southwest Bank is pleased to announce that Southwest Bank Director Tom Cravens was recently designated the 2012 “Banker of the Year” by the Tarrant County Bankers Association (TCBA). Cravens was honored at the “Banker of the Year” luncheon held at Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth on December 6.
Cravens has served on Southwest Bank’s board of directors since 2009. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Cravens is a 48-year veteran of the North Texas banking industry. Prior to joining Southwest Bank, Cravens’ vast experience includes serving as chairman and CEO of First National Bank; co-owner of Coble Cravens Inc.; executive vice president of Security Bank; executive vice president of SouthTrust Bank in Arlington; president and CEO of Northwest National Bank; and director for Texas Bank, later acquired by Compass Bank.
Cravens is active in the North Texas community and is a current member of the Arlington Rotary Club, Arlington Chamber of Commerce foundation and First Presbyterian Church in Arlington. Cravens also serves as chairman of the Fleetwood Memorial foundation, Texas Health Resources Board and AT&T Cotton Bowl Board. He was recently appointed as Chairman of the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation – a
foundation that provides matching grants to Arlington nonprofit organizations for the mineral lease bonus and royalty income on City of Arlington owned property.
