FORT WORTH, Texas – July 2, 2013 – Southwest Bank is pleased to announce that Tom Tallent has been elected secretary/treasurer of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association for the 2013-2014 term. Tallent serves as Southwest Bank’s senior vice president – credit manager for Southwest Bank’s Dallas-based Mortgage Warehouse Lending team, managing program credit and operational risk.
Founded in 1917, the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA) serves the interests of its members by promoting ethical standards, professional development, state legislative initiatives and education. The TMBA aims to advance the business of mortgage banking, real estate finance and homeownership in Texas. Prior to his nomination as secretary/treasurer of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association, Tallent served on the board of directors for TMBA for three years. He is also a two-term past president of the Fort Worth Mortgage Bankers Association.
Tallent has more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining Southwest Bank earlier this year, he served as vice president of servicing acquisitions, escalations and investor relations at Colonial Savings, F.A. Tallent actively volunteers in the community, and has served two terms on his local city council as well as on the boards of his local library and chamber of commerce.
Tallent earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington, and is recognized by the national Mortgage Bankers Association as an Accredited Mortgage Professional.
